Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in Bude was left with a significant head injuries after being attacked at the weekend.

The assault took place at or near The Bandstand in Bude on Sunday, March 17 between 8pm and 9pm.

A man in his 60s received a significant head injury during the course of the attack and was taken to hospital as a result.

A man in his 40s was arrested and has since been released on police bail.

Officers are keen to speak to anybody who witnessed the incident, or may have information that could aid the investigation.

Investigator Tim Wright, of Liskeard CID, has said that he understands that there may have been a number of people in the area at the time of the incident who may be able to offer significant evidence to assist the investigation.
