A fundraiser has been launched to help family of little girl seriously injured in an XL Bully attack in Falmouth at the weekend.

She has been named on the fundraising page as ten-year-old Tiana Berry, who was bitten by the dog in Lowenek Close, Falmouth on Saturday evening and taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

While her mother Kirsty has said on Facebook that her daughter was doing OK, the fundraising page says the little girl has suffered “life changing” injuries.

Now friend and neighbour Sophie Caban has started a JustGiving page to try and raise £1,000 to help the family out at this difficult time.

Launching the JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/sophie-caban Sophie says she wants to raise the money to make the little girl’s life a little brighter in the coming days, weeks and months.

“I’m starting this fund page for 10 year old local girl Tiana Berry who was attacked by an XL Bully dog at the weekend and has life changing injuries,” she said.

“I know that no amount of money will heal the scars or trauma she has suffered but as a community it would be nice to come together, so I’m reaching out to see if we can maybe help both Tiana & her family with things that she or they may need for her in the coming months and her future.

“At this stage the professionals can’t say what will happen but if we can make this amazing brave little girls coming days/weeks and months a little brighter it would mean a lot.”

The appeal comes after the incident at around 7.10pm on April 13.

Police were called by the ambulance service to a property in Lowenek Close, Falmouth to reports of a child being bitten by a dog, causing serious injuries.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the dog – which they believed was an XL bully – was seized by attending officers.

The police are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to get in touch via the police website or by calling 101 quoting log 827 of 13/4/24.
