One of the main roads between Truro and Falmouth is currently blocked in both directions following a two-vehicle collision.

Drivers are being warned of severe delays on the A39 Perranarworthal following the incident which happened just before 3.30pm this afternoon (Thursday) around Goonvera.

Traffic monitoring site INRIX shared. It reads: “A39 both ways blocked, severe delays due to an accident, two vehicles involved around Goonvera.

“Congestion routes through Ponsanooth as traffic heads away.”

Google Maps shows a significant amount of heavy traffic on the A39 from the A394 roundabout at Penryn to Carnon Downs.

Devon and Cornwall Police said one person has sustained minor injuries.

A force spokesperson said: “Police were notified at around 3.10pm to reports of a collision involving two cars at Stickenbridge at Perranarworthal.

“Minor injury was reported by one occupant."
