Officers are appealing for help to find four boys who witnessed a serious sexual assault which happened in the grounds of Truro Cathedral.

The incident happened sometime between 11.30pm on Friday, March 15 and 12.30am on Saturday, March 16.

DC Amanda Gilbert said: “Police received reports that a woman had been sexually assaulted on the grounds of the cathedral when on a night out with friends.

“A group of young males, who were close to where the incident took place, alerted the victim’s friends by calling them over telling them that the victim needed their help.

“We wish to identify these boys as we believe they may have information which could help us with our investigation.

“The group of males are described as being around 16 to 17-years-old and were wearing grey jogging bottoms, three of the boys had dark/black coats on. The fourth boy had an orange jacket on with a sling bag over his shoulder. The boys all had similar light/brown hair which was thicker on top and short on the sides.
