Police are appealing for witnesses after two stores in Helston were broken into over the weekend.

Police are investigating a burglary at The Spar store at the top of Meneage Street at the roundabout and at the Londis Store in Coinagehall Street.

Police believe the two incidents may be linked.

The Spar was closed first thing following a break-in at around 3.30am this morning.

A picture taken through the door of the store and posted on Facebook show vapes strewn across the floor from a nearby cabinet.

Nearby residents reported hearing the store alarm going off at exactly 3.30am but said as it is always going off people tend to ignore it.

Police say entry was forced into the building through a shop door.
