Three Cornish towns have been named as some of the best places in the UK to visit if you have hay fever.

Falmouth, St Ives and Newquay scored low for pollen in a recent study conducted by Parkdean Resorts.

As the UK experiences more sunshine and warmer temperatures, the pollen count rises, which is problematic for those who suffer with hay fever.

Many people find their symptoms generally worsen from May to September.

According to Google search data over the past week, the term 'hayfever' has seen an 86 per cent uptick, with 21,000 Brits looking for support.

Indeed, travelling during these high-pollen months can be challenging for those affected.

To assist those planning holidays or day trips, Parkdean Resorts unveiled a list of the best UK destinations for people with hay fever.

The company constructed the list by analysing forecasted pollen counts and rates of grass and tree allergens across towns and cities around the country.

Their findings suggest that the listed locations will have the lowest 'hayfever scores' come 2024.

Falmouth Packet:

Falmouth, ranked fourth in the whole of the UK, scored low for pollen.

The generally moderate counts of trees and grass allergens there would allow hay fever symptoms to stay under control for those visiting.

Two other Cornish towns, St Ives and Newquay, also featured as highly suitable for hay fever sufferers with minimal pollen counts.

A popular location for family trips and holidays, St Ives offers beautiful beaches and a historic town for everyone to enjoy.

Likewise, Newquay, a hotspot on the north coast of Cornwall, provides a picturesque seafront experience for those sensitive to pollen.

The full list also includes other renowned locations like Blackpool, known for its Pleasure Beach and amusement park, the coastal location of Bournemouth, city destinations like Brighton and Leicester, and also Lulworth in Dorset, known for its UNESCO World Heritage site coastline.

Manchester and Birmingham also made the list, rendering them suitable for those with hay fever.

In light of these findings, Parkdean Resorts promotes a range of holiday options in locations with low pollen counts and invites holidaymakers to consider their 2024 destinations carefully.
