St Austell Brewery and Cornwall Pride have joined forces to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across the brewing firm's operations.

To celebrate the partnership, they’ve launched a charity beer in honour of Pride Month as part of a wider bid to foster an inclusive environment.

An equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) steering committee has been set-up, chaired by chief executive, Kevin Georgel.

Moreover, an advisory group of over 20 volunteers from across the brewery's various divisions will relay feedback and ideas to the committee.

Volunteers joined Cornwall Pride last month in brewing the limited-edition beer named "Beer is Beer".

This special pour is a 4.2 per cent New York pale ale packed with citrus and papaya flavours.

The beer is currently available in pubs throughout the South West.

For every pint sold, a 5p donation will go to the charity.

Furthermore, St Austell Brewery and Cornwall Pride will co-host a 'Pride Inclusion Breakfast' with Cornwall Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, July 6, taking place at the brewery's Royal Cornwall Show stand.

CEO of Cornwall Pride, Matthew Kenworthy Gomes, along with various businesses from across Cornwall, will host talks of individual experiences of inclusion.

St Austell Brewery’s people director, Kate Price, said: “As part of our growth strategy, we’re on a mission to become the number one employer of choice in the South West

"A core part of this is looking at how we ensure all our workplaces - our pubs, breweries and depots - are places where people feel safe, included and accepted, welcoming everyone equally and from all backgrounds."
