Two teenagers from Helston are in custody on suspicion of burglary and theft of a vehicle.

The police were called to Flora Motors on Porthleven Road, Helston at 6.40am on Friday (June 7), following reports of a burglary.

According to reports, a window was smashed to gain entry and car keys were stolen.

Officers located a vehicle believed to be linked to the burglary and pursued it. The pursuit ended in the St Hilary area where two occupants were arrested.

The police have now revealed that two teenagers have been arrested and are now in police custody.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “An 18-year-old male from Helston was arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop and driving whilst under the influence of a controlled drug.

“A 19-year-old from Helston was arrested on suspicion of burglary and driving whilst under the influence of a controlled drug. Both are currently in police custody.”

This incident comes days after Mrs K Fruit and Veg Shop and WH Smiths - both on Meneage Street were targeted by burglars.
