This year’s Castle to Castle swim was the biggest in the event's history with 467 swimmers taking part, raising £73,000 for the RNLI
The swim from Pendennis Point to St Mawes Castle is a fundraiser for the RNLI and, despite taking place on June 30, more money is still coming in.
First home was Felix Hinton-Smith with a time of 24 mins 15 secs, closely followed by the first under 18 year old entrant Peter Kettleborough with a time of 26 mins 29 secs, third Tomas Rich in 26 mins 32 secs and the first female home was Maisey Hawkins in 26 mins 33 secs.

Dave Nicol, fundraising and partnership lead, south west region said: “This is the most successful Castle 2 Castle swim so far with 467 swimmers taking part in what was described as challenging conditions.
“In completing the challenge, the swimmers have also raised an amazing £73k for the RNLI which will help support our lifesaving work around the coast.
“The event was supported by over 100 volunteers both on the water and ashore – particular thanks goes out to the volunteer Lifeboat Crew, RNLI Lifeguards, the volunteers from the Surf Lifesaving Clubs, Falmouth Harbour, Fal River Ferries, various sailing clubs and other vessels who helped provide the water safety elements without which this event would be unable to take place.
“We would also like to thank our other supporters Falmouth Town Council, English Heritage, TJR Scaffolding, Alliance Tool Hire South West and Blackwater Studios.”
