Falmouth Community Fire Station is scheduled to reopen to the public for an Open Day event.

Its organisers aim to provide an insight into the operational processes of the firefighting team and create an engaging atmosphere with varied activities, shows, and exhibits, taking place on September 15 2024, from 11am to 3pm.

Visitors can anticipate participating in a raffle boasting prizes exceeding £1,000, catered from donations by local businesses.

They will also get to witness live displays such as emergency services showcases featuring the RNLI and Coastguard, South West Ambulance, Unimog and Aerial Ladder Platform Fire Appliances, Police Dogs, Blood Bike, and RNAS Culdrose.

The day will also consist of station tours offering a closer look at the daily lives and tasks of the firefighters.

Purveying entertainment, there are plans for a steam engine display, carousel rides, and games.

The Marine Band will be present for the musical enjoyment of the attendees.

Local radio station, Source FM, will be providing live coverage of the event.

Importantly, this Open Day doubles as a significant fundraiser for two key local mental health charities, Georgia's Voice and Man Down.

These groups are deeply committed to the mental health of the community, supporting males and females alike.

The event is being organised and run by the devoted individuals serving at the fire station, who express a clear keenness towards contributing to and interacting with their community.

Visitors are welcomed to take part in this unique day, honour their local heroes and support a worthwhile cause.
