Ivy, who will turn 101 in November attended the event with her daughter and enjoyed the festivities.

Bryan and Wisdom have expressed their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the fundraiser's success, highlighting the generosity of local businesses.

Waitrose, Rowes, Roddas, and Tesco each donated an array of cakes, scones, buns and clotted cream for the event.

Bryan and Wisdom said they were both “grateful” for those who came along and donated.

“We couldn’t have achieved this amazing result without the support of our community,” Bryan said.

“It was so wonderful to see so many people come together for such a good cause. We are proud to be able to support these charities that do so much for animals in our area.”

The donations will go a long way in helping both charities continue their vital work, providing care and shelter to animals in need. Helston and Falmouth Cat Protection relies on public donations to support its mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats.

Prickles and Paws Hedgehog Rescue, similarly, depends on community support to care for injured and orphaned hedgehogs.
