Three people in a boat and one dog found themselves in a sticky situation on Wednesday afternoon after their speedboat suffered engine failure.
Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team were called to Sunny Corner near Truro after reports of a vessel stuck in the mud with an adult, two children and a dog on board.
Portscatho Coastguard Rescue Team and a full time Senior Coastal Operations Officer were also sent to the scene to help.
A crew from Truro Community Fire Station were already there and directed the coastguard team to the vessel in question.
A small speedboat with one adult, two children and a dog was found to be ‘high and dry’ following engine failure, they were unable to navigate the channel and ended up on the mud bank.
Given the still falling tide and hot weather conditions, it was decided to recover the casualties to the shore.
Two specialist mud rescue technicians were deployed to recover the party. Once safely aboard our sled, they were winched back to the slipway, very happy to be on dry land.
“Once complete. We returned to station for a clean down and then headed out again to conduct a safety patrol for the Falmouth Week Air Display,” said the team on Facebook.
