Two people have been rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after an incident in Truro yesterday evening (Saturday).
Emergency services responded to a report of two people suffering stab wounds in St Austell Street shortly before 5pm on Saturday, August 17.
A 31-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 42-year-old man from Truro has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm without intent. He now remains in police custody.
A scene guard and police cordon have been in place while enquiries have been taking place at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing to locate outstanding suspects.
Detective Inspector Steve Applewhite said: “At the moment there is an increased police presence in the area, and we will be carrying out high visibility patrols to provide reassurance to the community.
“I understand that an incident of this nature will cause concern, but I can confirm that this incident is being treated as an isolated incident and we believe that those involved are known to each other.
“As part of our investigation, we are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area of the Trafalgar Roundabout to please get in touch.
"We also ask that anyone in the area who may have relevant dashcam, doorbell or CCTV between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Saturday 17 August, to contact police.”
