Bank Holiday Monday saw the return of Porthleven’s popular annual torchlight procession last night - with a slightly altered route this year.
The parade traditionally symbolises the end of the summer season, with hundreds of people holding lit torches parade through the port as dusk falls.
For 2024 the route was altered slightly, due to the manufacturer shortening the burning time of the flame torches.
The procession started from The Moors, determined to go ahead despite this, and to be visible to as much of the village as possible.
Porthleven Town Band lead the procession, heading towards the Harbour Head.
The procession moved along Fore Street, before turning into Thomas Street and travelled the length of Peverell Terrace to take in the sights on the glimmering harbour and out to sea.
At the end of Peverell Terrace, the procession turned down towards the beach and headed around the iconic clock tower, to return to the Harbour Head, where the band played out a final set.
As the sun set, the incredible sight of flaming torches was seen from many vantage points and was a wonderful memory to see out summer.
