The first-ever Penzance Food Festival is fast approaching and excitement is building.
It will take place from September 13 to 15 in Penlee Park.
The festival promises a feast of flavours and fun activities, with free entry and a packed schedule.
Penzance Food Festival will host over 50 local vendors, chefs, and artisans offering a diverse range of delectable culinary delights.
Celebrated Cornwall chefs including Jude Kereama, Jeffrey Robinson, Annie Seaborne, Rose Cant, and Adam Kesakoff will be providing live demonstrations in the Taste Theatre.
Attendees can kickstart their day with wellness classes from 10am at the wellness area before exploring the various gastronomic enterprises.
Among several sumptuous food options, attendees can uncloak their senses to the backyard style burgers of Fat Monday’s, the homemade Newlyn crab nachos and crab mayo sandwiches from Mackerel Sky, indulgent lobster rolls and crispy pork belly tacos from Cape Cornwall Club, and the authentic pizzas of Pizza Plz Handmade Pizza.
Oona Burch, event organiser, said: "We have been overwhelmed by the community’s enthusiastic response to the event, it’s clearly something that people are keen to support and get involved with."
Harry James-Mills shared a sneak peek of the attendees’ schedule, saying: "We hope people will want to spend the whole day with us. Classes start at 10am in the wellness area followed by Yallah coffee and baked goods from micro bakeries Rosewall and the Magic Whisk.
"Moving onto lunch from our amazing range of hot food vendors and shopping in the Producer Tent, followed by watching some world-class cookery demos in our Taste Theatre and then finishing the day off with drinks and dancing in the main bar and stage area."
Barney Farnworth added: “Penzance has a rich food and produce community, and we are honoured to be starting a food festival here.
"In alignment with our Cornish heritage values, we aim to work with, support, and promote the farmers, fishermen, producers, and chefs behind the scenes who make Penzance and Cornwall such special places to live.”
Sarah Shaw, Penzance BID manager, continued: “We are delighted to support Penzance's very first Food Festival, a celebration of our town's rich culinary heritage and vibrant local produce.
"This event is a fantastic opportunity to bring our community together, showcase the incredible talent of our local chefs and food artisans, and put Penzance on the map as a must-visit destination for food lovers.
"We look forward to welcoming everyone this September.”
