More than £700 has been raised for a Cornish charity that educates young people about the dangers of knife crime.
SUEZ recycling and recovery UK colleagues across the South West raised the funds for Mike's Trust, a charity set up in memory of Michael Riddiough-Allen, who died in Bodmin in 2023.
The money was raised through a prize draw for tickets to the Cornwall RFU friendly game against Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park in Exeter.
Michael was a passionate rugby player, and a cheque was presented to his sister Becky at the Bill Beaumont Cup game at Redruth RFC on May 24.
The trust aims to educate young people about knife crime and works with schools to share Michael's story.
Dominic Cullip, senior site manager for SUEZ and close friend of Michael's, said: "We are proud to support such a meaningful cause that resonates deeply with our community.
"By organising this rugby ticket event amongst our staff, we hope to have not only raised funds but also awareness about the important work that Mike’s Trust is doing to help young people in Cornwall to make safer choices."
SUEZ, a waste management company, is committed to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
This fundraising initiative is part of a broader commitment to give back to the community and support local charities within the South West.

In 2023, Michael Riddiough-Allen was killed by Jake Hill, who left five others injured during a nightclub stabbing in Bodmin.
Hill was sentenced to life in April last year.
