Asda has said its Hayle store will reopen at 11am today, following a visit from structural engineers last night.
Shoppers and staff at the Cornwall store were shocked on Monday when a large chunk of wall came crashing down on to the car park below.
Ken Townend Bem, who was there at the time, said the wall came down “with a big bang.”
Rubble could be seen covering a number of disabled parking bays, which were fenced off by staff.
A spokesperson for Asda confirmed to the Packet that no one was hurt in the collapse, adding that the store had been closed temporarily and a small area outside cordoned off for safety.
He said this was down “due to recent adverse weather conditions.”
However, in an updated statement today (Tuesday) Sara Taylor, store manager, Asda Hayle Harbour, said: “Following the visit of the structural engineers last night we are pleased to let you know we'll be reopening at 11am today.

"The team have been working really hard to begin clearing up, and the road and entry to the car park is now open as usual.
"Over the coming days and weeks we'll have contractors on site repairing the damage and rebuilding the wall to our yard, and there may be intermittent works impacting a small number of our car parking spaces.
