JD Wetherspoon has confirmed the name of its new pub opening in Cornwall.

The pub is set to open at Haven’s Riviere Sands Holiday Park in Hayle this spring, with the holiday park operator confirming the names of four new venues being rolled out across its UK sites.

The Cornwall venue will be known as The Bluff - the same name as the pub being taken over as a Wetherspoon, with the company choosing to retain it due to its "long-standing local significance."

The pub takes its title from the steep bank or cliff edge on which it sits — a dramatic spot offering sweeping views across the coastline.

Haven says the pub forms part of a £9 million investment into four new Wetherspoon locations across its holiday parks, with The Bluff joining an expanding portfolio of on‑site pubs created through an exclusive partnership between the two companies.

Nine Haven parks now feature a Wetherspoon venue following an agreement signed in 2024.

Simon Palethorpe, Haven’s CEO, said the naming of each pub is ‘highly anticipated’ and aims to reflect the historical or geographical character of its setting.

He added that the expansion comes as Haven prepares for a record four million guests expected to take holidays at its parks this year.

The addition of The Bluff is expected to prove popular with visitors to Riviere Sands, giving guests and holiday homeowners an on‑site venue with views that the company says rank among the best across its UK locations.

The Bluff is expected to open in time for spring.
