A family event has been rescheduled due to adverse weather forecasts.
The Easter Egg-stravaganza in Newquay, originally planned for Saturday, April 4, will now take place a day later on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
All scheduled activities will remain the same, and the event will still be held at the Killacourt from 10am to 4pm.
Mayor of Newquay, Councillor Drew Creek, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause, but the safety and comfort of our families and visitors is always our priority.
"We are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Killacourt on Sunday 5th April.
"It is going to be a fantastic day and well worth the wait."
The full programme of free activities remains unchanged and includes an Easter egg hunt (with a chocolate egg or alternative for every child),
storytelling sessions with Hotch Potch Performance, face painting, mini fairground rides, an Easter trail with a prize at the end, and a children’s disco from the Bandstand.
The BIG Newquay Market, hosted by Cornwall Shop Small in collaboration with Newquay BID, will also be moved to Sunday.
It will take place alongside the Easter Egg-stravaganza on the Killacourt from 10am, offering a wonderful range of stalls showcasing local food and artisan makers.
The two free Easter town trails, the Easter Trail and the Golden Rocks Hunt, are unaffected by the date change and will run as planned from Tuesday, April 7, to Saturday, April 18.
Trail sheets can be collected from Newquay Library and Information Service, though the library is closed on Sundays.
The Easter Egg-stravaganza is a free event with no charges for any activities.
