Crews from across Cornwall called to agricultural fire

As many as eight fire stations attended the incident in St Allen, near Truro, which was reported just after 5.30pm on Tuesday.

Appliances from Truro, Tolvaddon, Perranporth, Helston, Hayle, St Colum, Penzance, and St Just were dispatched to the scene, along with two wholetime officers, to tackle the fire.

Cornwall Council advised the public to "Please avoid the area. Local residents should stay indoors and close all windows."

A spokesperson from St Just Community Fire Station said at the time: "This evening our Incident Command Unit was mobilised to an agricultural building fire near Truro.

"On scene our firefighters worked with crews from a number of stations providing support for the incident."

At 10.30pm, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident had been scaled down and that crews would soon be leaving the scene.
