Cornwall's tourism talent is once again shining on the national stage, with three much loved businesses named finalists in the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.
The announcement today (Wednesday, April 15) reveals that Watergate Bay Hotel, The Story of Emily, and Bosinver Farm Cottages will all compete for top honours at England’s biggest celebration of tourism quality and innovation.
For more than 35 years, the VisitEngland Awards have recognised businesses that set the benchmark for customer service, accessibility, accommodation, attractions, food and drink, and standout visitor experiences.
This year’s 53 finalists were selected following a rigorous judging process led by handpicked tourism industry experts.
VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes praised the finalists for their impact on the sector. “These awards honour the very best businesses and individuals in tourism, who are the driving force in an industry that delivers growth to local economies across England.
“I thank them for their dedicated service, congratulate them on achieving finalist status and wish them every success.”
Finalists will now compete across 16 core categories, with three additional special awards also up for grabs: the Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award, the Travel Content Award and the Tourism Superstar Award.

Large Hotel of the Year – Watergate Bay Hotel, Newquay

Set within her restored childhood home — the Victorian Rectory (PL14 3LX) — and adjoining “War Rooms”, the experience uses tech rich, multi sensory storytelling to explore her global impact.
Self Catering Accommodation of the Year – Bosinver Farm Cottages, near St Austell
Nestled in 30 acres of meadows, woodland and fields at Trelowth near St Austell, Bosinver is a long established favourite for relaxed, free range family holidays.
