Man "brutally" assaulted in Falmouth in "unprovoked" attack

An appeal has been issued after a man was "brutally" assaulted in Falmouth in an "unprovoked" attack last night.

The attack was said to have happened outside the Meat Counter in Arwenack Street in the early hours of Monday morning between midnight and 1:30am.

In a post on Facebook the victim said he was brutally assaulted and then when unconscious he was kicked and stamped on by his attacker.

In an appeal for information he said: “I was brutally attacked last night outside the Meat Counter and then when i was unconscious I was kicked and stamped on by a man. He was around 5ft 8”s tall, slim build brown hair shaved beard

“It happened between 00:00 and 1:30am approximately if anyone witnessed it or has cameras please contact me i hope this man gets locked away it was an unprovoked, I was just going past on my way home”

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told the Packet: “We were notified in the early hours of this morning [Monday, April 20] to reports of an assault on high street in Falmouth.

“Officers and ambulance services attended the scene, where a man was located with injuries.

“Enquiries are currently ongoing to identify the offender.”
