Christmas by Candlelight concert set to light up Truro

Christmas by Candlelight is set to light up Truro Cathedral on December 3 and 5, promising two evenings filled with West End vocals, live music, and festive cheer.

Part of a wider tour across the South West, the shows combine West End vocals and live bands with the glow of hundreds of flickering candles for a "feel-good" seasonal experience.

Ben Purkiss, who starred in the West End production of Bat Out of Hell, said: "We’re absolutely thrilled to be returning to the South West this Christmas and bringing a little West End magic with us.

"These shows are such a joy to perform, and the energy from the audience is unlike anything else.

"Year after year, the Christmas tour continues to sell out, and when you see the reaction from the crowd, it’s easy to understand why.

"It’s become a festive tradition for so many people, ourselves included, and honestly, I think we enjoy it just as much as the audience does."

The concert series has grown into a "must-experience" night out, combining sing-alongs, dancing, and show-stopping performances in breathtaking venues.

"The response to the Christmas shows has been incredibly heartwarming, and it’s been amazing to see how many people continue to make these concerts part of their festive traditions year after year."

The 2026 programme includes Christmas By Candlelight, ABBA Christmas By Candlelight, Bublé Christmas By Candlelight, Motown Christmas By Candlelight, and Rat Pack – A Swingin’ Christmas By Candlelight.

Organisers expect high demand for tickets, and encourage those interested to secure seats early.

Early access to tickets opens on May 22, with general release starting on May 29.
