A celebration evening has been held to honour student success in Helston.
The event at Helston Community College recognised academic achievement, with just over 60 students nominated for commendations.
Awards were presented for each subject area and special recognition given to those who demonstrated determination and effort, as well as outstanding achievement.
The Heads of Year each had the challenge to choose just one student for their sought-after Head of Year Awards.
Watching on from the audience were proud parents, college governors, former headteachers, and town and Cornwall councillors.
This year’s guest speaker was Professor Martin Siegert, a renowned polar scientist and Vice Chancellor of the University of Exeter.
He spoke about the importance of courage, resilience, and kindness both in school and throughout life.

The college concert band, led by John Greaves, entertained the audience.
The evening concluded with refreshments prepared by Year 10 GCSE Food Technology students.
Headteacher Alex Lingard said: "It really was a special evening for everyone involved.
"We would like to thank everyone who was involved in the evening for making it such a success."
