The Falmouth Oyster Festival will return this autumn, with organisers announcing the first wave of musicians and chefs set to take part in the four-day celebration.
The free festival will take place in Events Square, Discovery Quay, from October 8 to 11 and celebrates the native Fal oyster and the start of the annual oyster dredging season.
Organisers say visitors can once again enjoy live music, chef demonstrations, talks, market stalls, children's activities, street food, and maritime-themed events throughout the festival.
Among the highlights will be the popular oyster shucking competition and working boat race, alongside a programme of free daytime entertainment.
The first artists confirmed for the evening music programme include Cornwall-based band Falmouth Soul Sensation, who will open the festival with a free performance on Thursday evening.
Folk rock favourites Mad Dog McRea are scheduled to perform on Friday, while blues harmonica player Giles Robson will headline Saturday night's entertainment with support from Dave Keller.
The festival will close on Sunday afternoon with a free performance by Falmouth group The Oggymen.
A number of chefs have also been announced for this year's programme of demonstrations and cookery sessions.
They include Annie Seabourne of My Fish Kitchen, Elliot Kett of Kelp Canteen, Sham Mulji of Situ Cafe, Chris Eden of Watergate Bay Hotel, Nick Evans of Stein's Cookery School, and Guy Owen of Idle Rocks Hotel.

Falmouth is one of the few places in the world where native oysters are still harvested using traditional sail and oar-powered boats, with local oystermen continuing a method that has been passed down through generations.
Organisers say the practice helps protect oyster stocks and the river's ecology.
More chefs and the full festival programme are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets for the Friday and Saturday evening music sessions are now on sale.
