RNLI announced as Warrens Bakery new charity of the year

Warrens Bakery, which is believed to be the oldest pasty maker in the world, will support the Royal National Lifeboat Institution over the next 12 months through a variety of fundraising efforts.

The charity was selected through a company-wide vote, and Warrens plans to donate 10p from every bottle of still and sparkling water sold across its 50 UK locations throughout the year.

Craig Wood, assistant retail director at Warrens Bakery, said: "Our staff voted for the RNLI as their chosen charity for our annual charity partnership.

"It’s such a vital service with the most dedicated staff and volunteers, and we’re really focused on raising as much funds as possible for them."

The bakery sold more than 90,000 bottles of water last year, and it hopes to exceed that figure to maximise donations to the charity.

Additional fundraising activities will include in-store collection tins, RNLI badges worn by staff, and a dedicated JustGiving page to support individual sponsored events.

Warrens recently sponsored Falmouth’s International Sea Shanty Festival- where the RNLI is the official charity—by donating 2,000 pasties to the performers.

Founded in 1860 in the Cornish town of St Just, Warrens Bakery was born from the marriage of the Warrens and the Harveys and their shared passion for baking.

More than 165 years later, the company now operates 50 stores across high streets, railway stations, and roadside locations throughout the UK.
