Fire crews from three stations were called to a man trapped under an overturned quad bike on the Lizard Peninsula yesterday.

An emergency call was made at 10.45am on Monday (October 26), with crews from Helston, Mullion and St Keverne scrambled, alongside a rescue tender from Tolvaddon.

The call reported that an overturned quad bike had left a person trapped in the St Martin area.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “The first attending crew reported that a male casualty was trapped beneath the quad bike in a ditch within a forested area.

“Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and safely released the casualty.

“Crews then worked alongside ambulance personnel to carry the casualty on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance for onward care.”
