Cornwall Council has announced that Market Street will be closed between numbers 50 and 43 from 7pm to 6am on weekdays only.
The closure, which will last from November 9 to November 11, is due to "ducting works" being carried out on or near the road.
A temporary suspension of the existing one-way system is also intended.
It will affect Market Street, Church Street, and Arwenack Street between their junctions with Killigrew Street and Swan pool Street, covering their entire lengths.
These measures have been put in place under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because works are being executed on or near the road to carry out ducting works.

Despite the closure, emergency services, traffic linked to the works, and vehicles used by utility companies in emergencies will be granted access.
Pedestrian access to residents and businesses will also be maintained.
