Two hooded men were reported to have smashed windows at a house in Porkellis before leaving the scene on Halloween night.

A pair of suspects, from Helston and Porthleven, were subsequently arrested following a car crash a short time later, near Leedstown.

Both were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the Porkellis incident, alongside other suspected drugs offences.

Devon and Cornwall Police were first called to the village shortly before 5pm on Saturday (October 31).

A force spokesperson said: “We were called following a report of two hooded men smashing windows at a property in Porkellis before leaving the scene.

“A short time later officers attended a collision near Leedstown.

“A man in his 30s from Porthleven was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs, possession of cannabis and possession of cocaine.

“A man in his 30s from Helston was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of cannabis.

“Both suspects were also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in relation to the Porkellis incident.”

The two men have both been bailed while enquiries continue.

The windows of a property in the village have since been boarded up.

A police officer was carrying out door-to-door enquiries in Porkellis on Saturday evening, asking residents if they had seen or heard anything about what was described as a “targeted attack.”
