Organisers of Porthleven's first Food Festival are celebrating an astonishing triumph in the face of adversity after hundreds of people ignored the elements to enjoy the event.
Hearts must surely have sunk as deep as the bottom of Porthleven's harbour when Saturday dawned with gale force winds and lashing rain.
However, the committee who had worked tirelessly for months planning the bonanza refused to be defeated and their determination was rewarded when hundreds of visitors turned out in their droves.
The first Porthleven Food Festival saw celebrity chef Antony Worral Thompson open the event and stay to sign copies of his book.
Julia Schofield, one of the main organisers of the event, said: "It was truly amazing - a phenomenal day."
