From sizzling swimsuits and skiwear to women's wetsuits and shift dresses, a spectacular fashion show of men's and women's wear this Friday offers a sneak preview of tomorrow's superstar designers.

Before an audience of press, VIPs, students and the public the catwalk show at Falmouth's Events Square will present selections from the 2009/10 collections of BA (Hons) fashion design and BA (Hons) performance sportswear design students at University College Falmouth.

The show will be accompanied by music from Falmouth-based live bands Tallships and My Elvis Blackout, plus DJs, The collections include pieces produced in collaboration with the British Fashion Awards designer of the year Luella Bartley, who has recently been appointed visiting professor of fashion at UCF.

Models from around Cornwall - including Lisa Ann Hillman from TV's Britain's Next Top Model - will strut the catwalk, sporting hair, make-up and accessories supplied by some of the fashion industry's biggest international names including Toni & Guy, Givenchy and Mac.

The finale of the catwalk show will be the first ever presentation of "most promising designer" prize, awarded by the industry professionals' fashion database www.stylesight.com.

Co course leader Patrick Gottelier said: "This event is a magical opportunity to showcase Cornwall's creativity to the fashion world."

The show has been publicised by a team of students from the college's other courses, including public relations, spatial design and press and editorial photography.

Choreography and music students from UCF's Dartington Campus will perform an original dance piece on the night, accompanied by Dartington's Balinese Gamelan group.

Doors open at 6.30pm, ahead of the show start at 7pm. Tickets cost £12 (£6 for concessions) from The Poly in Church Street.
