Mabe Primary School’s young netball team have celebrated their most successful season to date.
They youngsters netted themselves a place in the Cornwall Primary School Finals – in which they came third in the whole of the county – after finishing second in the West Cornwall area final.
This followed a second place in both the Falmouth and Penryn area tournament and league.
The team was only formed three years ago and as the school is so small is made up of pupils year five as well as year six.
Andrew Thompson, who described himself as a “proud PE co-ordinator” at the school, said: “It is an incredible achievement for such a small school, considering that some of the players are still in year five.
“We are immensely proud of their achievement and both the players and the two coaches, Kate Moody and Ida Barrett, are to be commended. A truly remarkable achievement! Well done to all.”
