The Rev Dorothy Noakes presided at parish communion, assisted by Betty Booker, lay reader and John Eddy reading the lesson.
The preacher was the Rector, Canon David Miller, speaking about a very famous episode in Luke’s Gospel during which a woman described as a “sinner” poured costly ointment on Jesus’ feet. The story showed the difference between mean and generous love, but also and even more importantly that, though the woman loved much, it was her faith that saved her.
The Junior Church is at present meeting the crèche at the back of the church, where the very young are made welcome and entertained.
