The president, Roger Hosking, welcomed visitors from Torquay, Malvern, Cardiff, Plymouth and Escondido, California. Thanks were expressed to all who contributed to the coffee morning in aid of the children’s ward at the RCH when £150 was raised.

The speaker for the day was Nigel Arscott from Plymouth. Nigel used the letter of Peter to point out that everyone has a role to play in the church. We should be examples to each other but there was an order in the way Jesus taught by example - He was mighty in deed and word. The works came first before the preaching. We should stay close to Jesus and make God the centre of our lives. We can keep the Lord among us by reading the Bible and through prayer as we all need the love and support of Jesus and each other. We need to put our trust in God because Jesus gave us an amazing hope if we allow the light of God’s word to shine in our hearts.

In the evening Nigel gave an interesting presentation stating the case for Intelligent Design in our world.

There will be a Bible class on Thursday at the Christadelphian Hall in Church Row, Porthleven and a Study Day on Saturday, June 19 with two sessions beginning at 2.30pm and 6pm led by Andrew Walker from Doncaster. The title is “The Bewitched Ephesians.” All visitors will be welcome.
