The church calendar is starting the long period of Trinity, this period lasts until Advent, there are 24 Sundays in Trinity.

Today was Trinity Two and was celebrated in style. Bishop Tim took the service and is the first time that he has been to Breage.

There were almost a running flush of clergy as Bishop Tim, Vicar Penny and the Rev Sharon were in attendance. The weather was fine and thanks to the flower ladies and cleaners the church looked lovely.

Josh and Edmond read, 2 Samuel chapter 11 v 26-12 and 10, 13-15, Galatians chapter 2 v 15-21. Penny read the Gospel Luke chapter 7 v 36, chapter 8 v 3.

Jane assisted at the altar, Sharon was in the choir and Malcolm read some very expansive prayers. Bishop Tim gave a bright, quickly paced sermon with a contemporary twist and a comment upon the national psychology. The points made were nicely drawn together in a well crafted intelligent manner. A summation would leave us with these points.

Jesus enjoyed telling his followers stories, they did not always understand but this bought continuing learning. Secondly Jesus followed protocols that good manners of the time dictated, but he did not have a mind set and could see beyond the accepted behaviour. To some extent we today must also try to change accepted practices so that we do not become inward thinking and too caught up in habits deeply formed.

The ladies at Carleen raised £60. This monthly money is becoming more and more important to the finances so thank you all.

Best wishes for Breage Fair and for the Bishop's visits to Breage and Godolphin Schools.

There is a church stall at Breage Fair on Saturday.

At 11.15am Sunday is Parish Eucharist followed in the evening at 6pm by a United Songs of Praise.
