A baby born at Gweek’s National Seal Sanctuary earlier this year has returned to give the seal of approval on her place of birth.
Holly Sedgwick was born when expectant mother Susannah visited the sanctuary with husband Adam and young son Ben on Sunday, April 25.
This week Susannah took baby Holly back to the sanctuary.
“I don’t really remember much about having Holly other than the pain.” said Susannah. “Ben wanted to see the new penguins so we thought we would do it when Adam had his day – I never dreamt it would be where Holly was born.”
The sanctuary has given Holly and her family free entry for life and a bag of goodies for each of them.
“We were so excited to see Holly and her family after the shock of having her born here.” said the sanctuary’s Laura Ward. “I believe Susannah even had to put the National Seal Sanctuary as the place of birth on Holly’s birth certificate.”
Holly was given the middle name Ceceilia, as it relates to seals.
