Probably one of the best known former landlords in the area has died.
George Folkes, who ran the popular Seven Stars pub in Penryn for more than 40 years, pulling his last pint in October 1988 and retiring aged 72 died, aged 94 on Sunday at his home in Bohelland.
His family hailed him as a "wonderful person" who "loved Penryn and its people."
