Falmouth Primary School has been teaching pupils and parents the importance of a healthy packed lunch box by staging a one-off taster for youngsters.
A selection of children from all year groups participated in the initiative this morning where they were taught about the value of eating a balanced diet and had some fun putting together a tasty nutritious lunch.
The day was organised as part of Cornwall’s Healthy Schools programme, which visits primary schools throughout the county. School support workers Jilly Parkinson and Elizabeth Scott organised a circuit of tables of tasty and healthy treats and the pupils, along with parents and helpers worked their way around the tables to make their meals.
Among the food on offer was meat, fish, cheese, fruit and vegetables.
