Rail passengers at Falmouth’s Penmere Station can now see flowers growing in and around a steam engine ornament thanks to the station’s friends group and workers at Pendennis Shipyard.
Free of charge, staff at Pendennis built the garden engine for the Friends of Penmere Station to provide a brand new centre peace for the new and improved station garden.
Steve Lloyd, the friends’ honorary chairman, said: “The garden engine is fantastic. We always wanted an engine but never in our wildest dreams did we think we would have anything like that.”
