Le Grand Bleu, the 21st largest privately owned mega yacht in the world, owned by 47-year-old Russian billionaire and oligarch Eugene Shvidler arrived at the docks from San Juan, Puerto Rico on Monday.

The A&P group can accommodate the world’s largest super yachts and working closely with the Pendennis Shipyard Yard have valuable assets to provide world class repair facilities for these vessels.

Ranked number 334 in Forbes billionaire list Shvidler is worth an estimated £1.5 billion. His best friend and business partner is Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich reportedly worth £12 billion, who gave the Le Grand Bleu to him as a present some years ago.

A brilliant mathematician Shvidler received a degree in mathematics from the Gubkin Institute in Moscow and a Masters in Business Studies from Fordham University, USA.

Early in his career he worked for Deloitte & Touche in New York and became a U.S. citizen. He later returned to Russia, where he teamed up with Roman Abramovich to start the oil trading outfit Runicom S.A. In 1995 they partnered to gain control of oil giant Sibneft, which Shvidler joined initially as senior vice president.

He served as company president from 1998 until October 2005, when Russian state energy company Gazprom acquired Sibneft. For most of his tenure, Sibneft was Russia's fastest growing oil company in terms of production, and its most profitable in terms of earnings per barrel.

Shvidler owns a private jet, a French vineyard, a £22m house in Belgravia with leather floors and an underground swimming pool.

Le Grand Bleu has a crew of 50, a yacht and a speedboat stored on her aft deck. She also makes room for a helicopter. The interior of Le Grande Bleu was designed by Terence Disdale.

The yacht is no stranger to Falmouth having called here at least three times since being launched.

Originally, Le Grand Bleu was built for Seattle-based telecommunications billionaire John Mc Caw who sold it to Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich. He took the super yacht to Germany where it underwent a major refit.
