A gyrocopter has cut through power lines near Mawnan Smith and made an emergency landing in a field nearby.
The aircraft, similar to a small, two-man helicopter, came down in a field at Penwarne, close to Mawnan.
It is believed the the gyrocopter (also known as an autogyro) suffered a loss of power, causing it to lose height and hit the power lines.
The pilot is understood to have escaped without injury after making the emergency landing. He has been seen by ambulance staff.
However, the gyrocopter has sustained some damage, including scorch marks where it hit the power cables.
Thousands of homes in the Mawnan Smith area have been left without power as a result of the incident, although it is understood the village is now connected again.
