One of the studios established through the Falmouth Launchpad 2015 programme has teamed up with a leading games development company to launch their first game.

Burning Arrow, based in Penryn, have recently announced the collaboration with German company Deck13 to release their first person survival adventure game - The Other 99.

Thomas Brown, Harry Stevenson, Alex Barnes and David Croft-Sharland formed Burning Arrow in June 2014 while on the Launchpad programme. They came up with the concept for their game during the programme and have been working on it ever since.

Thomas said: “We started approaching publishers with The Other 99 near the end of Launchpad, and Deck13 showed an interest last summer. We’re really excited by our debut title and are thankful for Deck13 for spotting its potential.”

Harry added: “As graduates, creating something as ambitious as The Other 99 would not have been possible without the support of Falmouth Launchpad. The business mentoring and creative support which Launchpad provided, allowed us to take an abstract idea and formalise it in to a sustainable business.”

The Other 99 is a first-person action-survival game. It is scheduled to be released on multiple platforms, including Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC starting with an Early Access release in July.

Deck13 Interactive is one of Germany’s leading Next-Gen developers with studios based in Frankfurt and Hamburg. Deck13’s award winning portfolio contains top-titles like Next-Gen multiplatform hit Lords of the Fallen, which sold more than 1 million units.

Falmouth Launchpad 2015 was an innovative graduate programme designed to place talented graduates in teams that incubate into incorporated, investable companies. On successful completion they achieved a masters degree in business entrepreneurship.
