The founder of a Penryn-based social media marketing agency has been chosen by Facebook to act as one of just 24 mentors in the country to provide training and support to female start-up business owners.

Katherine George, the founder of award-winning social media agency Oh So Social, has been named as a social media mentor and trainer on behalf of Facebook, as part of the annual #SheMeansBusiness campaign in partnership with Enterprise Nation.

In what will be an exciting opportunity for female entrepreneurs in Cornwall, Katherine is now accredited by Facebook to provide free Facebook and Instagram training to female start-ups through the campaign.

Katherine said: “I am honoured and humbled to be one of just 24 #SheMeansBusiness mentors on behalf of Facebook. I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge to help other female entrepreneurs who are starting out where I did just a few years ago to succeed in business.”

To launch the campaign and to celebrate International Women’s Day, Katherine and Oh So Social will be hosting a female founder meet-up on Thursday, March 8, at the Falmouth Hotel. This will be a fun and friendly networking event where female start-up business owners can get their social media questions answered, meet other female start-ups and hear their stories.

It will be a great opportunity to make valuable contacts as well as discover more getting involved with this year’s #SheMeansBusiness campaign.

#SheMeansBusiness was launched last year to celebrate female entrepreneurs and to facilitate Facebook and Instagram training to female founders of start-up businesses across the UK. Last year, the campaign provided training to over 10,000 female entrepreneurs.

Oh So Social's small team of social media experts, provide comprehensive social media management, training and mentoring services to businesses of all sizes.
