A Cornwall-based solicitor has been recognised for her expertise in family law by leading national body the Law Society. Sarah Evans, of South West law firm Coodes Solicitors, has been reaccredited to the Family Law Advanced Accreditation Scheme.

Sarah achieved 100% in her application, by demonstrating her expertise in law relating to children and domestic abuse.

Sarah Evans works in Coodes’ Liskeard office and covers all aspects of family law, including divorce and care proceedings. Her particular areas of expertise are domestic abuse and matters relating to children. It was these two areas of law that Sarah focused on to secure her reaccreditation.

The Family Law Advanced Accreditation covers specialist areas of family law work. To achieve an accreditation, lawyers must demonstrate a high level of competence and knowledge in two or more specialist areas of family law.

Sarah Evans said: “I am delighted to have been reaccredited to the Family Law Advanced Accreditation Scheme and am particularly pleased to have achieved 100% for my submission. This adds to Coodes’ Family team’s qualifications and endorsements, giving our clients confidence in our expertise and experience. When people come to us they are often in very difficult and stressful situations, so it is particularly important we can reassure them that we have the experience to help them.”

Sarah works closely with a number of organisations supporting victims of domestic abuse including the Susie Project, Domestic Abuse Cornwall and Independent Domestic Violence Advocates.

Coodes Solicitors Partner and Head of Family Elise Alma said: “We recognised Sarah’s ability when she joined us as a trainee 10 years ago. To achieve 100% in a reaccreditation is exceptional. I am very pleased that our clients continue to benefit from her expertise.”
