A teenage girl from Falmouth School who was hit by a car this morning just yards from the school has not suffered any serious injuries. The police initially described her injuries as "significant" but have since stated that they are not life threatening. The incident happened at around 8.15am today (Friday May 19) on Trescobeas Road between the school and Falmouth Fire Station. The car involved was a dark blue Ford Ka. The girl was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro by the air ambulance and police closed the road for almost two hours.
