Police are asking the public to help find a man who could hold “vital information” about a sexual assault in Falmouth.

Detectives have released a CCTV image of the man they want to speak to and have asked anyone who knows who he is or how to get hold of him to get in touch with police.

It follows an incident in Church Street, Falmouth that took place between 2am and 3am on Sunday, January 14.

A police spokesperson said that the victim had been making her way along Church Street after a night out in the town when she had “advances” made towards her, before she was sexually assaulted.

"A man, unknown to the victim, followed her along the street and then made advances towards her to which were rejected. The man then sexually assaulted her by way of inappropriately touching.

"Officers would now like to identify and speak to the man pictured in connection with the incident as he could hold information vital to the investigation,” added the police spokesperson.
