The Falmouth branch of Reed In Partnership is celebrating its first anniversary this month, after helping to secure over 60 job starts for their customers in the Falmouth and Penryn area since opening on 5th December 2016.

The team will be based in The Poly on Falmouth high street on Wednesday 10th January for an Open Day from 10am to 4pm offering advice, guidance and information relating to their no-cost service, which helps people into work, and are inviting members of the public to come and find out what they are all about.

Refreshments will be on offer, as well as the chance to speak to an Employment Adviser, a Health and Wellbeing Adviser and an Employability Skills Trainer who can advise on the type of support that can be delivered.

Reed in Partnership is currently delivering the ESF funded Work Routes programme in Cornwall - this is a support service for people with additional barriers to employment who want to work but face their own unique challenges. Work Routes provides one to one information, advice and guidance, group and one to one training and continues to support people once they’ve started work, and all at no cost to either our customers or their future employer.

The Falmouth Team is comprised of an Employment Skills Trainer, a Health and Wellbeing Adviser, three Employment Advisers and a Business Manager – all of whom are eagerly supporting local people to find suitable employment every day.

The Falmouth team is delighted with the results of the first year and for the members, who now find themselves in employment and in a more stable financial situation. With a new–found spring in their step they are now able to better provide for their families this Christmas

Dave Gyll-Murray, one of the Employment Advisers said,

‘It’s a privilege to be able to help people into work – particularly people that have been out of work for a long time and have had their self-esteem knocked. For a lot of people the important thing is to support and advise them so they can achieve the right mind-set, and help them recognise and value the skills they already have’
