Falmouth-based 20/20 Projects has been awarded the contract to design and fit an interactive exhibition for a new heritage centre in Looe.

The Looe Heritage Centre, celebrating the town and its maritime history, forms part of Looe Harbour Commission's refurbishment plans for their Grade II listed Sardine Factory building.

20/20 Projects will use their range of design, interiors, interpretation, manufacture and installation services to create an interactive, family friendly exhibition for the centre which showcases the varied industries and activities that have impacted on the harbour town throughout its history.

Designed to be accessible for all ages and abilities, and incorporating exhibits that bring the subject to life using all the senses, the centre promises to attract visitors and the local community alike.

Jaimie Sibert, managing director at 20/20 Projects, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Looe Harbour Commission on this local project. The Looe Heritage Centre is an exciting opportunity to celebrate the town's heritage and to engage visitors of all ages in its varied past and all it has to offer today.

“With our base in Falmouth, we particularly enjoy working on projects that promote and showcase Cornwall, and we are excited to be able to put our experience of delivering creative and engaging visitor experiences to good use in our home county.”

Tina Hicks, harbour master and chief executive of Looe Harbour Commission, said: “Their innovative ideas, together with their proven track record, made 20/20 Projects the obvious choice in helping us to breathe new life into this building.

“Now that we are working with them, 20/20’s professional approach to the blank canvas with which we had to work, has given us direction and inspiration and calmed our pre-project nerves, having not tackled this type of project before.

“We have no doubt, that the finished project will be very special and something that the whole town will be very proud of.”

20/20 has an impressive track record in similar projects, having delivered an extensive portfolio of projects including local schemes at Heartlands Visitor Centre, Bude Tourist Information Centre, Falmouth town centre and at a range of National Trust properties in the South West and nationally.
