A Redruth-based company that specialises in clothing which aids medical rehabilitation and sports performance has developed new products.

Staff at DM Orthotics research, develop and manufacture dynamic movement braces, or orthoses, to help improve the lives of people faced with physical challenges.

These include neuro-muscular conditions like Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes, Dropfoot, Scoliosis, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke and Multiple Sclerosis.

DMO Essentials was launched last year to make the company’s products more accessible.

Now adult and child-sized leggings, single shoulder orthoses, vests and a child’s version of the double shoulder orthosis are available online.

“We have been working hard on our new range since the beginning of this year and are delighted that we can now offer more patients superior orthotic solutions,” said DMO CEO Dan Severn.

“Our Essentials collection provides similar benefits to our made-to-measure service, but in pre-determined sizes. That makes it infinitely easier for customers who want to buy something quickly as they can order directly from our online shop. Shipping is free and immediate.

“Our orthoses use strategically placed panelling to re-position the body and help improve posture. Elastomeric fabric ensures a close fit and lightweight powernet material in the reinforcement panels provides strength and stability where required.

“In accordance with strict health and safety guidelines, we managed to remain open throughout the pandemic and are delighted to have been able to use our expertise to work with Cornwall Scrubs, whilst also developing our business.”
