A Cornish-based building surveying firm has marked the start of a new business chapter by moving to new premises in Penryn.

RTP Surveyors, which has offices in Falmouth, Bodmin, and Plymouth, has relocated its head office to Tremough Innovation Centre, part of Falmouth University’s Penryn Campus.

The move follows two years of significant growth for the business which has included the opening of an office in Devon, the expansion of its team, and a shift in ownership profile following a management buyout.

Tremough Innovation Centre opened in 2012, and is built to BREEAM Excellent Standard, one of the highest levels of environmental accreditation available for new buildings and is home to several other businesses which operate from its offices.

RTP Surveyors director, Richard Collett, said: "Following 22 wonderful years in our Arwenack Street office, we are excited to be joining the Tremough Innovation Centre community, which offers state-of the-art technology, vibrant networking spaces, and the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse array of businesses.

"Better connectivity means that our team can, in the long-term, more effectively balance home and office working, which will allow employees to enjoy a better quality of life - something we’ve been striving to achieve over the last two years.

"As a business which is focused on sustainability, this new way of working will also help us to reduce our carbon footprint."

In 2018, after 32 years at the reins, Richard Thomas became a much-valued consultant to the business, following a management buyout which adjusted the ownership profile of the existing directors – Martin Winchester, Martyn Middlewick and Richard Collett – and brought in new director, John Darbyshire.

The business is currently recruiting for chartered building surveyors, experienced surveyors and architectural technicians, details of which can be found on RTP's website.
